HI pete
You may want to read this. Looks like the Asian Submarine race is getting hot.
Navy to own submarines soon: its Chief of Staff

Hi Nicky
Thanks for https://elevenmyanmar.com/news/navy-to-own-submarines-soon-its-chief-of-staff which is a little vague. That link seems aimed at the Myanmar public, explaining submarines at a very basic level.
There have been rumours over the last 10 years that Myanmar may obtain subs, with Kilos sometimes mentioned.
In the unlikehood Myanmar can afford or prioritize submarines it might more likely go for the cheaper Chinese Yuan variant, called S20 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_039A_submarine#Export_variant:_S20
Regards
Pete
