Failed Logistics of Russia's Invasion of Ukraine

Here and above is an excellent Youtube video uploaded by Wendover Productions today, March 6, 2022. The content, especially visually, appears to owe much to US intelligence input.

Particularly after 7 minutes it explains Russia's inefficient logistical system as a major reason Russia hasn't taken Kyiv already.

I really don't understand the strategic situation.

A force needs, according to history, a 2.7 to 1 force advantage to win in a theatre if the attacking side. Russia has 200,000 odd versus Ukraine's 180,000.

Russia lacks this.

Russian units are supplied by railway. They have organic supply units one third of Western armies.

Russian and Ukrainian units have the same equipment. I don't know Ukrainian force levels but Russia has three times the artillery with one third the supply.

City fighting requires a higher force ratio, plus Ukrainian artillery will slaughter anyone outside a city.

Hi Gessler

Yes the 2 links are about omissions and ranks/retired delegates.

1. Re https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2022/03/03/joint-readout-of-quad-leaders-call/
mention of "Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India" in a White House Brief that included "Ukraine" was an achievement in itself.

But I note that brief didn't mention "Russia" or "Putin" - so India, as a Quad member, wasn't being asked to condemn Russia/Putin. All advocating "free and open Indo-Pacific" was just about China/PRC.

2. Interesting the "Taiwanese Vice President William Lai yesterday conveyed Taiwan’s desire to join the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad) to a visiting US delegation." rather than Taiwan's Premier or Minister of National Defense conveying the desire.

And then this was to a retired rather active US Admiral "Mullen said he would take Lai’s suggestions back to Washington for discussion."

Are diplomacy!

Pete.

Regarding Taiwan, there is more to it:

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2022/mar/3/taiwan-hit-widespread-power-outage-pompeo-meets-pr/

It seems there was a nationwide cyber-attack coinciding with the visit of aforementioned US officials (including former Secretary of State and former CIA director Mike Pompeo).

Guess China isn't happy. Who would've thought?

Hi David

The whole democratic world rightly opposes Russia's vicious attack on Ukraine

and Russia's slaughter of Ukrainians.

Hi Gessler

Poor old China/PRC

Mao, now Xi

China is depressed that Putin's "All we a saying, is Give War a Chance"

strategy is not going to plan.
