Hi Pete

Taiwan should be defended in the framework of Quad (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadrilateral_Security_Dialogue). Taiwan and USA should participate in CPTPP (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans-Pacific_Partnership) to promote fair trade. China can also participate in CPTPP, if she gives up dictatorship.

Hi Anonymous (re Taiwan and the Quad etc)

Much US foreign alliance adjusting will happen from 2021 under Biden, hopefully to Taiwan's and Australia's benefit. A stronger TPP trading bloc that reduces Australia's dependence on the PRC Trade would be particularly beneficial due to what is becoming a PRC Trade War with Australia.

What I see as the US effectively dropping out of the TPP under Trump should be fixed with the US rejoining negotiations.

If Taiwan wanted Australian assistance Taiwan may need to think seriously at joining, or at least Coordinating, with the Quad. In times of Australian strategic confrontation with the PRC Taiwan could contemplate sending a destroyer/frigate with a supply ship in Australia's defence?

Regards

Pete
