As evey man and his dog has published today on the latest Australia-France submarine sign-off, squeezed in before the May 2019 Australian Election (remember that?) I'll comment on that tomorrow.

Shortage of submariner is a major concernin in many countries, and adoption of female submariner is promising solution to overcome this problem. But, male-oriented design is adopted in current submarine, such as hotbed, poor shower and toilet system. Establishment of cleaner and privacy-friendly system is quite important to secure submariner, espetially, in oceanic submarine. In automobile industry, cross-functional team (CFT) or mutidisciplinary team in design phase is widely adopted [1]. In submarine industry, cross-functional team system including women or sexual minority is needed to achieve effective operation by multi-sex submariners.
In old Japanese submarine such as Yushio-class, air in sanitary tank is exhausted the inside of submaine and provides terrible atmosphere which people of nowadays never stand.

Yes integrating females into submarine crews has caused a perception of problems in the US, UK and (as you advise) the Japanese navies.
I haven't heard of integration problems in the RAN, Canadian Navy or German Navy.
I wonder if the French, Russian, Chinese or Indian navies allow female submariners?

Possibility of female submariner in France, Russia and China is unknown. But, in India, no husband, boy friend, brother, sister nor parents allow female submariner. Female discrimination and atrocities in India are notorious [1, 2].
[1] Though there are excellent politicians like India Gandhi in India, but, social position of women is low. In fact, many brides still suffer from the dowry system (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dowry_system_in_India).

Given the nature of Chinese and Russian society I don't think they would allow woman to be submariners.
Looks like woman have been Indian Naval Officers since 1992 https://www.joinindiannavy.gov.in/en/page/women-in-the-navy.html but no mention of submarines
