Hi Arpit Kanodia
Re your info “several
people now murmuring that this DRDO developed Pumpjet will go into [future Indian SSBNs] S3 and S4 - and
most probably S5" below.
A simple alleged DRDO designed alleged photo above revealed August 2020 at link
Arpit Kanodia adds “But surprisingly, SSN will still receive normal screwblades.”
Pete Comment: As India's S3 and S4 SSBN designs will likely be completed, launched and commissioned long before India's longterm 2030s SSN is completed, it makes sence that a SSN pumpjet vs propeller choice is left open until the late 2020s.
Arpit Kanodia also supplied this unattributed (though, by implication, DRDOs) undated, PDF document “PUMPJET PROPULSOR AGGREGATE: Objective: Development of Electric Motor to be
integrated with the Pump-jet Propulsor to replace conventional propulsor system...”
at https://tdf.drdo.gov.in/funding_details/download_document/381 .
Regards
Pete
a working and reasonably silent SSN that has good networked capacities (not simply old style hydrostatic sonars etc.. but proper combat suites and proper interlink of various weapon systems etc.) that is deployable by 2029-2030 is much better than screwing around with fancy concepts...
